Erasmus and other study abroad

There are various options for studying and doing internships abroad. Scholarships are offered by various programs, national governments, foundations and universities. The student also has the opportunity to study at a foreign university as an exchange student on his own initiative. 

The following are the main opportunities for studying abroad.

Erasmus+ exchange studies

The Erasmus+ program is a program of the European Union that finances projects in the fields of education, training and youth. The purpose of the program is to support international learning, develop cooperation between countries and unite different cultures. Within the program, it is possible to study as an exchange student in various European countries, as well as outside the European Union. The Erasmus+ program offers various scholarships for studying abroad, which you can familiarize yourself with HERE.

Erasmus+ internship abroad

The Erasmus+ internship allows TU students to complete an internship at a company or organization in another country (including a higher education institution). In the case of program countries, you can apply for an internship both at foreign universities and companies. In the case of partner countries, you can apply for an internship at foreign universities with which there is a corresponding agreement. You can apply for an internship all year round, except in July!

Bilateral agreements

Within the framework of bilateral agreements, it is possible to do exchange studies at many universities outside Europe. is not included, must be paid as part of a scholarship, but students are guaranteed free study at a partner university, and in some cases, accommodation in a dormitory is provided. In the case of such an exchange, it is also possible to submit an application to international funds, from which exchange studies are supported with up to 5,000 euros each year.

International summer and winter schools

International summer and winter schools are short-term programs that allow you to combine your studies with discovering the world and making new connections. Each program has its own application requirements, which you can find information about on the respective school's website. Summer and winter schools are generally paid, but several partner universities of Tallinn University apply discount prices for our students for the programs they organize.
