Student Council

At the level of the academic unit, or School, students are represented and student life is organised by the School’s Student Council.

The Student Council (hereinafter referred to as the SC) is the Institute’s active representative body, fulfilling a social and representative function. It represents the students in relations with the School, cooperates with various student bodies and with other student councils.

The SC involves students in the activities of the Council and in the organisation of student life. In addition, it elects the student representatives of its School to the School’s Board of Studies and the School’s Council (see below).

You can become a member of the SC at any time under the SC Statute.

Council of the Institute

The institute is managed by the institute's director and the institute's council. The institute's council adopts the institute's development plan based on the university's development plan and submits it to the senate for approval; makes proposals to the senate to confirm the institute's academic directions; adopts the budget project of the institute under the conditions and procedure stipulated in the economic regulations; approves the institute's action plan; evaluates the activity report of the institute; accepts and submits curricula to the Senate for approval and approves supplementary curricula; selects regular lecturers and research workers of the institute, except for professors, on the basis and according to the procedure stipulated in legislation; may make proposals to the senate regarding changes to the statutes of the institute; etc.

The council of the academic unit has at least three student representatives, preferably at least one representative from each level of study, who are elected there by the members of the student council. The election will be advertised in August on the Student Council's social media channels.

The student representative plays a major role in the council of the institute. He speaks up and stands up for the interests and needs of students at the institute level. Touching on topics such as the quality of curricula, problems with teaching staff, working conditions of teaching staff, study conditions of students, etc.

Study Board

Each academic unit, i.e. institute or college, has a study college. The study board is responsible for the development of the academic unit's systematic and consistent curriculum and is based on the latest developments in the research and creative fields, international practice and the needs of the labor market, feedback from curriculum interest groups, analysis of received proposals and current legislation. The study board makes proposals to the council of the academic unit about opening, changing and closing study programs.

Each study college has at least one student representative, who is elected by the members of the student council. The election will be advertised in the student council's media channels in August.
